Europe Trip Diary Entry #4 22nd, March 2016

Hello everyone!

I found a pretty little spot by Lac de Motriond on a walk the other week!


Long time no see I know! I apologise for my lack of posts I have been very busy.  
I thought I would inform you that I am in fact still alive and well! I am still enjoying my time in Morzine however I haven't achieved much mountain time unfortunately due to myself getting ill again (suprise suprise I know!) I feel like I recover from one illness and onto another!  I am hoping to hit the slopes hard in my last segment of my stay here in the next couple of weeks or so and even get a few lessons and conquere some more challenging runs and improve my confidence.

We had a massive downpour of snow a couple of weeks ago however since then it hasent snowed at all and the weather has really warmed up resulting in pretty average snow right at the minute.  All of us here are just crossing our skis for another downpour, however it is slightly doubtful as we are now heading into spring.  

We are now entering the last month or so of the season now which is really odd as the time seems to have gone so quickly while being out here.  I still can't wrap my head around the fact that I'm leaving in just over 3 weeks to Sardinia and it's only a month and 6 days until my big trip starts.  It's a melancholy feeling when your time in a place like this starts beginning to come to a close.  Although I would love to stay I'm also so excited to be off onto new and exciting pastures and to see more of this beautiful chunk of the world.  The end nearing also makes me ponder and ponder more on what I would like to do after my trip.  Whether to stay in Europe or to go home.  Whether to go home and work, study or go to Queenstown for a season.  There are so many options that all seem so good but I'm just keeping my options open and going with the flow and seeing where the next couple months take me.

I would like to also give a little shoutout to two of my best friends! Shannon who turned 18 on the 22nd of March and Grace who turned 19 on the 21st.  It's weird being away for your friends big moments in life.  I haven't not seen Shannon on or at least around her birthday since she probably turned 7 and now she's turned the big 18 and I'm 18,569Km away from her.  These are the moments when I thank the lord for modern technology and the ability to wish her a happy birthday and her receive it 3 seconds later on the other side of the world.  However I do have to say time difference is a bitch! 

Anyway! That is my little update for this week! I hope you enjoyed it and I will try my hardest to make another one this time next week for you all.  

I watched an ice hockey game for the first time last week! Intense game!

Buenos Aires! South America Trip Day Two! 😄

I woke up around 8am and headed down to the lobby for breakfast. I entered the breakfast room expecting to see mostly english speaking tourists. Oh how I was mistaken.  I was trying to make out who was speaking English and couldn't spot a single English speaking tourist. Day two was slow day for me. I made my way out during the morning for a brisk stroll and to take some better photos. I tried to walk all the way to Puerto Madero but was afraid to wonder to far from the hotel and get lost without internet or a map.  I thought risking it by myself, on my first full day in South America might be a bit of a bad call.   The buildings in Buenos Aires are very frenh esque looking and were very aesthetically pleasing.  I ate a burger and chips for lunch, near my hotel and watched a football match on tv inside the burger restuarant. Iguazu Falls! South America Trip Day Five 😄

We disembarked the luxary bus and collected our luggage. We were dropped off on the argentinian side of the falls near the border of Brazil. We then crossed the border in a van and headed straight to the Brazilian side of the falls. We had a quick munch on some overpriced fast food near the falls then set off on a hike around the falls. I was blown away by the beauty of it all. We did a brief walk, approximately 3km or so. This took us along the side of the falls and underneath the mouth of one section. We got pretty wet so I was definately pleased I was appropriately dressed in wet weather gear. After we completed the walk and took about a million photos we headed back to the shuttle bus to make our way to the hotel. Some of us visited a bird park on the way home where we saw a variety of exotic birds.  The hotel was a little far from glamorous to put it politely. Buenos Aires! South Ameria Trip Day Four 😄

I began this morning with a stroll through central Buenos Aires to visit the Obelisk and the BA sign along 9 de Julio, the widest road in South America. I did a little bit of shopping and exploring the cities mecca before heading back to the hotel. We met in the lobby at 6pm. We caught taxis to the bus terminal. My taxi entered what they call the "locals entrance" which was made evidently obvious by the amount of people, rubbish and the hovering odour of urine. We boarded the luxary bus after a bit of confusion with which bus we were meant to board. The bus seats reclined right back into a bed and we had plenty of room with tvs for entertainment.  Typically my seat was broken and didn't lock when I reclined it, but as long as I put most of my weight in the top of the seat when I lay down (which was the comfiest bit anyway) I was fine.
